Web 2 @ NECC (Via 2 Cents Worth.) I’ve been linking to Warlick a lot, but he did get the conversation started right. I was thrilled to see he included video games in his searches of the NECC program. Quite a few more sessions show up if you change your search terms a bit. While “video games” only brings up 4 sessions (including mine), searching for just “game” or switching to “simulations” generates better results:
Video Game 4
Game 17
Simulation 17
There are a few other searches I thought were important…
In 2003-2004 I managed an EETT grant that brought handheld computers (Palm Tungsten E’s) to middles school students. Enthusiasm for handhelds seemed to die down then for a while, but the blogosphere has been a buzz with talk of handhelds in education again lately (and I’ve followed a few blogs about handhelds for a while), so I also searched for these terms:
Handheld 32
Palm 13
iPod 13
PDA 9
Finally, I rounded out my own schedule with this important search:
Open Source 21
Below is the schedule I generated for myself using the online planner. I started with the games and simulations sessions and then any CUE related sessions. Next I added sessions by presenters I wanted to see, followed by sessions on open source software, and finally a few to fill in some of the blanks. There are quite a few conflicts, but I’ll like having the flexibility – and somewhere to go if something doesn’t work out.
Is there anything I’m missing? Anything you think I should see? Leave a comment. :)
