- macosxhints.com – 10.5: Repair Time Machine after logic board changes I used Migration Assistant to move my data to my new Macbook via Ethernet cable. Time Machine, though, sees these as two different Macs… the process described in this post should help me rectify the problem and continue my backups from the new Mac. Thanks to Jeremy Davis for the tip. I’ll let you all know if it works. UPDATE: Worked perfectly! tags: timemachine, terminal
- » Hakia Bright ideas Another human powered search engine: “Hakia is a search engine that prides itself on bringing credible websites to the searcher. Librarians are able to submit websites they wish to recommend to Hakia. By adding non commercial, peer reviewed websites, search results are smaller, but more reliable. Currently the credible searches only cover the topics of health and environment.” tags: hakia
- Everything you always wanted to know about Google… “This presentation gives a great overview of the company’s overall strategy and the reasons it has become what it is today.” I’m finding the book The Google Story By David A. Vise & Mark Malseed an interesting (and inspiring) read, too. tags: google
- ShoutEm – Roll your own Microblogging Social Networking This has been open in a browser tab for at least a week, but it’s very cool… similar to using Ning to create your own social network, ShoutEm will let you create your own microblogging community. This is a bit like edmodo which was more focused on teachers and students, but I love the anonymous posting feature in ShoutEm. Steve Dembo has a good example here: http://teach42.shoutem.com/ tags: microblogging, shoutem

- » What Part Do You Play in Education Technology Deployment F.R. “Fritz†Nordengren Edublogger F.R. “Fritz†Nordengren posts a riff on a welcome activity I use that includes an old EDS commercial about “Building Airplanes in The Sky” – which is an obvious metaphor for educational chancge. - Rachel’s Blog Here’s one more post from Rachel Coleman of Baby Signing Time… and it’s one of the more brave (and moving) blog posts I’ve read. I’m impressed… and I’m hooked. And it’s great to see these technologies (blogs & twitter) being used in such an inspiring way outside of ed tech… although I suppose Baby Signing Time videos are educational technology if anything is. :) tags: babysigningtime, bst, rachelcoleman
