    Educational technology has got to be the new frontier. How do we use this media in order to help the kids learn by accessing information and then packaging it for presentation. Interesting.

    Mark,

    I would like to thank you again for a great technology training. But I really do have to comment on the example you gave about the so called “forged” memo on 60 Minutes. You admitted that you got your information from Huell Hewitt’s book, which is predictably going to have his spin on what happened. I encourage you to read this month’s Vanity Fair interview with Mary Mapes, the 60 Minute producer who was fired because of this issue. It gives a much different story than Mr. Hewitt’s, mainly that the superscripted fonts were indeed used at the time the documents were created. Moreover, the so-called expert on typeface turns out to be-surprise, a right-wing Atlanta lawyer who led the attack on Bill Clinton. What the example does show though, is the power of the Blog. I think that perhaps you should leave it at that. Otherwise, you simply give credence and affirmation to a continuing smear campaign.

    Thank you both for your comments. And Michael, thank you for passing on another perspective on the story I used as an example. I certianly don’t want to be a part of a smear campaign… nor do I want to have much of anything to do with propogating Hewit’s perspective. However, I think you’ve taken away just the point I had hoped to get across… the power of the blog… to give the people a voice, to threaten authority, and ultimately to arrive at something closer to the truth due to the contributions of different perspectives and experts. Thank you for your contribution to this blog and this conversation.
