I ditto everything above and more! I too am in my second quarter at Walden in the Educational Technology Ph.D. Program. I have never been so confused or lost. It was nice but unfortunate to see that others were feeling the same confusion and uncertainty that I am presently feeling. I have also considered transfering to a more traditional university, but holding out until I've completed my first residency. I will be leaving for my first residency on Dec. 26. I hope to gain a better understanding and begin to make true progress on my degree. I appreciate you posting this information. Sometimes it's the simple things that mean everything to others! Thanks again and keep posting, it's really helpful to see!

Thank you for posting. I am in my second semester at Walden in the Educational Technology PhD program. It was nice to see an example because I've been really confused and scared to start a KAM. I have been feeling that with all the information they have provided, I still find myself at a lost. So, I'm attending my first KAM this month -- hoping to gain some additional insight on the LA and the KAM. Thanks again!!!

Chuck,

I'm sorry it's taken me so long to respond to this comment... in brief, most people do a KAM a quarter. It's really just three papers, so a paper a month is reasonable. I tend to work too much, and the year I was doing KAMs was a tough one personally, so I moved at about half that pace. This page has two of my KAMs. The third has been with my adviser since November... it's been a tough personal year for him this time.

Let me know if you have any other questions I can help with.

Thanks for explaining what a KAM module means. I am also a Ph.D. student at Walden University. My concentration is in Accounting. I will be concluding my Research Foundation class in 2 weeks. I don’t really understand what the KAM module entails and long it will take to complete each KAM. How long did it take you to complete your first KAM. I have been considering transferring to a traditional program like Argosy, but I doubt they have the same name recognition and respectability like Walden. Please search your experience

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!! (HAPPY DANCE :)

I'm also working on my PhD through Walden. I've been to two residencies and when KAM's are mentioned, the response is always the same (from us students) "We need to see an example" Not to copy, could be on any topic, just to see what one looks like.

Again...THANK YOU for posting
